BARCELONA, Spain, Feb. 28, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- At the Mobile World Congress 2024, electric power customers and leaders from international organizations gathered to discuss the latest practices and innovations. Huawei launched its Intelligent Distribution Solution (IDS) during the summit themed "Leading Infrastructure to Accelerate Electric Power Intelligence". David Sun launches Intelligent Distribution Solution (IDS) David Sun, Vice President of Huawei and CEO of Electric Power Digitalization BU, Huawei, delivered a keynote speech and launched the IDS. Huawei collaborated with ecosystem partners to develop the solution, which addresses high line loss, poor reliability, and heavy pressure on new energy load management. It enables electric power enterprises to transition from single-point digitalization to architecture-supported, open, evolvable, and systematic digitalization, utilizing various key technologies based on a cloud-pipe-edge-pipe-device architecture. Huawei suggests using the on-premise private cloud as the digital foundation on the cloud side. Both wired and wireless solutions for the backhaul network are available. On the edge side, an all-in-one terminal called an edge computing unit (ECU) acts as a lean management carrier and combines communication, perception, and computing functions. The next-generation high-speed power line carrier communication (HPLC) on the low-voltage communication pipe side supports minute-level data acquisition, massive interactive connections, and a 99% acquisition success rate. The IDS has been implemented successfully within China. It enables the monitoring of distribution networks, real-time detection of the 10kV line status, and intelligent management of low-voltage distributed new energy. The solution combines HPLC and other new technologies. It enhances transparent perception and service digitalization in power transformer districts. The IDS has delivered positive initial test results in several countries outside China as well. At the summit, Sigit Witjaksono, Director of Connectivity Business of PT. PLN Icon Plus, shared about their cooperation and innovative practices with Huawei in one fiber for multiple services and digital distribution. Mahmoud BinAhmed, Acting Chief Commercial Officer, Integrated Dawiyat, shared how to monetize the assets of an electric company. Senelec's Transmission Network Director, Mam Singui Sarr, presented the Senelec Smart Grid ONE Network concept. It was based on challenges and key indicators in power transmission, transformation, and distribution. Moving forward, Huawei will continue to curate and share digital transformation methodologies with customers and partners, helping enhance digital foundations of electric power companies worldwide, speeding up intelligent development, and providing an attractive option for the global market. BARCELONA, Spain, Feb. 28, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- At MWC Barcelona 2024,Huawei hosted a Digital Finance Session. Jason Cao, Huawei's CEO of Digital Finance BU emphasized that resilience is the foundation for everything, and elaborated how to build the infrastructure resilience in the intelligent era. Jason Cao, CEO of Digital Finance BU, Huawei Resilience boosts intelligence. In the digital world, all changes pose new challenges to resilience. We must redefine and consolidate resilience to better achieve non-stop banking: ensure zero downtime and high availability of financial services, deliver a zero-wait user experience, achieve zero-touch operation while ensuring zero-trust service and data security, and eventually accelerate the development of intelligence. Zero Downtime To achieve Zero Downtime, Huawei has not only upgraded the MAS architecture, but also delivered successful practices in distributed databases. Moreover, Huawei has developed a next-generation distributed database called GaussDB, which was officially announced to global finance today. It boasts seven features including high availability, high security, high performance, high intelligence, high elasticity, easy deployment, and easy migration that make it an ideal choice for the financial industry to move towards zero downtime. Zero Touch Huawei Autonomous Driving Network has been enhanced from 1-3-5 to 0-1-3-5 ("0" means "0 Human Errors"), helping finance adopt Zero Touch operations. Digital Map is the most important capability, which was upgraded based on Cloud-Map Algorithms and Digital Twins. It leverages large AI models to visualize the correlation and changes of networks, traffic, and applications in real time. The result is a network digital twin simulation, which ensures zero change errors. Zero Trust Huawei keeps improving product security to ensure fast attack detection, virus isolation, and data recovery, and has provided the industry's first multi-layer ransomware protection solution. This solution employs network firewalls to detect viruses and a storage air-gap to isolate them in seconds, thereby preventing intrusions promptly. In addition, Huawei has upgraded the OceanProtect integrated backup solution. The large-scale parallel algorithms help customers recover services immediately. Zero Wait Huawei Data Intelligence Solution combines an all-serverless architecture with data lakehouse and data-AI convergence, which provides extremely strong real-time capability, especially for data warehouses. It is an ideal choice to build a zero-wait experience. In a word, Huawei hopes to redefine and consolidate resilience with customers to better achieve non-stop banking.
BARCELONA, Spain, Feb. 28, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Huawei unveiled a groundbreaking optical transmission product at the MWC Barcelona 2024, marking the industry's first introduction of a product supporting the fine-grain OTN (fgOTN) standard. This innovation establishes a robust and reliable communication network for the energy and transportation sectors. Huawei launches industry's first fgOTN-compliant optical transmission product The significance of secure and reliable communication networks cannot be overstated in sectors vital to national economies and public welfare, such as energy and transportation. In the past few decades, the SDH hard pipe communication technology has been mainly used in production networks. With the evolution of industry digitalization, the demand for high-bandwidth production communication networks has surged to support a spectrum of emerging services such as automated power line inspections, smart power distribution, intelligent highway monitoring, and intelligent toll stations. In December 2023, the ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) officially approved the fgOTN standard and defined it as the next-generation technology for SDH evolution. Gu Yunbo, President of Huawei's Enterprise Optical Business Domain, said, "Based on our extensive experience in the electric power and transportation sectors, Huawei launched the Huawei OptiXtrans E6600, the first product that supports the fgOTN standard, to help customers build future-oriented all-optical communication networks in the intelligent era and provide solid and reliable communications assurance for real-time control services, production management services, and integrated data services." Huawei's fgOTN-compliant optical transmission products feature: High security and reliability: TDM-based hard pipes ensure 100% physical isolation between services. 99.999% reliability and microsecond-level deterministic low latency ensure one-hop service transmission with zero interference and jitter, meeting the stringent requirements of small-granularity CBR services such as teleprotection and railway train control. Smooth evolution: The unique MS-OTN platform enables smooth upgrades of existing Huawei E series products on live networks to support fgOTN, while maintaining compatibility with PCM/PDH/SDH/ETH/SDI services. Additionally, with NCE, Huawei ensures simplified service provisioning and management akin to SDH, preserving familiar O&M practices. 10-fold bandwidth: The line bandwidth increases 10 times to achieve 100G per wavelength, with future evolution poised to reach 800G per wavelength, meeting the escalating bandwidth demands of intelligent services. Flexible client-side bandwidth access ranging from 2 Mbit/s to 100 Gbit/s, coupled with hitless bandwidth adjustment, addresses the evolving requirements of smart terminals.
