The project is connected to the UK grid 132kV electric circuit by the loop-in and loop-out Extra High Voltage (EHV) solution, optimising line protection and power generation protection schemes. The grid-forming technologies of PowerTitan 2.0 help tackle the power grid challenges of decreasing inertia and damping due to the increasing penetration of renewable energy sources. In addition, the PowerTitan 2.0's pioneering technology significantly reduces both capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operational expenditure (OPEX) costs. The all-in-one AC-DC block design of PowerTitan 2.0, with pre-assembled battery modules and PCS, ensures seamless integration, significantly reducing installation time. LG Innotek Showcases Innovative Automotive Lighting Technology in Germany, the Home of the Automobile

LG Innotek employees demonstrate Nexlide Vision. The product integrates Pixel Lighting, which enables various text and animation effects, and Smart Film technologies. Headquartered in France, DVN is a leading publication and academic organization in the automotive components industry. It hosts annual Lighting Workshops worldwide, which are renowned as a platform for exchange that brings together global leaders in vehicle OEMs and electronic components to discuss key issues of the automotive lighting industry and share insights on technology trends. This year's first DVN Lighting Workshop will take place on February 19 and 20 at Motorworld Munich, Germany. Various seminar sessions will be held over two days under the theme of 'Next Challenges: Sustainability, Development Speed Acceleration, and Software.' LG Innotek will participate in the session titled 'Innovative Technology - Light Source' on the afternoon of February 19, where it will introduce the innovative technologies that the company has applied to Nexlide, a flexible stereoscopic automotive lighting module. This technology enables the creation of automotive lighting modules that are thinner but emit light more evenly and brightly, enhancing automotive design flexibility for clients. During the workshop, an exhibition will also be held to showcase new next-generation automotive lighting products from participating companies. LG Innotek will install a booth and exhibit its Nexlide lineup, all of which can be applied to the front and rear of vehicles. These include Nexlide A, a rear lamp module that minimizes module thickness while providing bright, even light using LG Innotek's unique micro-optical pattern technology, and Nexlide A+, the industry's first surface light source module for front-end lighting applications. Other highlights of the exhibition include Nexlide C+, which uses 3D lighting technology to create 3D images, and Nexlide M, which can be mounted on both the front and rear of a vehicle and for which orders have been steadily increasing. LG Innotek will also unveil two new Nexlide products: Nexlide Edge, which has been made slimmer by replacing the LED packages with LED chips, and Nexlide Vision, which combines Pixel Lighting and Smart Film technologies to create various text and animation effects. Nexlide Vision will be exhibited through a hands-on demonstration for visitors. Its main feature is its ability to create not only pixels but also lines and planes. Visitors can write messages on a digital pad installed next to the product, and the text will appear on the automotive lights. An LG Innotek representative said, "Our technology is a key technology in the future mobility era as it significantly enhances V2X (vehicle-to-everything) communication using vehicle lamps," and added, "Currently, when a vehicle makes a sudden stop, all the driver can do is activate the hazard lights. Once Nexlide Vision is commercialized, however, vehicles will be able to communicate the driver's situation to the outside world in greater detail, such as the reason for the sudden stop and what kind of help is needed." Following the DVN Lighting Workshop, LG Innotek plans to conduct a roadshow for major European OEM clients, seeking to expand its share of the region's automotive lighting market. Global Semiconductor Manufacturing Industry Reports Solid Q4 2024 Results, SEMI Reports

MILPITAS, Calif., Feb. 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The global semiconductor manufacturing industry closed 2024 with strong fourth quarter results and solid year-on-year (YoY) growth across most of the key industry segments, SEMI announced today in its Q4 2024 publication of the Semiconductor Manufacturing Monitor (SMM) Report, prepared in partnership with TechInsights. The industry outlook is cautiously optimistic at the start of 2025 as seasonality and macroeconomic uncertainty may impede near-term growth despite momentum from strong investments related to AI applications. Global Semiconductor Manufacturing Industry Reports Solid Q4 2024 Results, SEMI Reports After declining in the first half of 2024, electronics sales bounced back later in the year resulting in a 2% annual increase. Electronics sales grew 4% YoY in Q4 2024 and are expected to see a 1% YoY increase in Q1 2025 impacted by seasonality. Integrated circuit (IC) sales rose by 29% YoY in Q4 2024 and continued growth is expected in Q1 2025 with a 23% increase YoY as AI-fueled demand continues boosting shipments of high-performance computing (HPC) and datacenter memory chips. Similar to electronics sales, semiconductor capital expenditures (CapEx) decreased in the first half of 2024 but saw a strong rebound, particularly in the fourth quarter, resulting in 3% annual growth by the end of 2024. Memory-related CapEx continued to lead the growth surging 53% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) and 56% YoY in Q4 2024. Non-memory CapEx also edged up in Q4 2024 showing 19% QoQ and 17% YoY improvement. Total CapEx is expected to remain strong in Q1 2025, growing 16% relative to the same period of the previous year on the strength of investments to support high bandwidth memory (HBM) capacity additions for AI deployment. The semiconductor capital equipment segment remained resilient primarily due to increased investments into expanding leading-edge logic, advanced packaging and HBM capacity. Wafer fab equipment (WFE) spending increased 14% YoY and 8% QoQ in Q4 2024. Quarterly WFE billings are expected to be around $26 billion in Q1 2025. China's investment continues to play a significant role in the WFE market but started to subside by end of the year. Additionally, back-end equipment showed strong increases in Q4 2024 with the Test segment logging 5% QoQ growth and an impressive 55% YoY increase for the quarter, while the Assembly and Packaging segment experienced a YoY increase of 15%. Both segments are expected to show similar QoQ growth between 6-8% in Q1 2025. In Q4 2024, installed wafer fab capacity surpassed a record 42 million wafers per quarter worldwide (in 300mm wafer equivalent), and capacity is projected to reach nearly 42.7 million in Q1 2025. Foundry and Logic-related capacity continues to show stronger increases, growing 2.3% QoQ in Q4 2024, and the segment is projected to rise 2.1% in Q1 2025 driven by capacity expansion for advanced nodes. Memory capacity increased 1.1% in Q4 2024 and is forecasted to remain at the same level in Q1 2025 driven by strong demand for HBM. "Despite seasonality and the challenges of macroeconomic uncertainty, momentum in AI-driven investments continues to fuel expansion across key segments, including memory, capital expenditures, and wafer fab equipment," said Clark Tseng, Senior Director of Market Intelligence at SEMI.
