KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Jan. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Organised by Business Media International, HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2025 Malaysia commemorate companies that are under unprecedented pressure to rethink how they manage people. As the country's business environment becomes more competitive, employers are contending with rising talent costs, shifting employee expectations, and the rapid introduction of digital tools that demand new ways of working. Many organisations are finding that what used to keep employees satisfied no longer works, and that gaps in communication, leadership and culture are widening faster than they can respond. With multigenerational teams becoming the norm, companies are also struggling to balance the needs of differing age groups while maintaining performance and cohesion. Congratulations to the winners of the 2025 Malaysia HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia These challenges are not theoretical. They show up in falling retention rates, increased disengagement and difficulties attracting high-quality talent. Companies know the problems exist, but many operate without the internal visibility required to diagnose the root causes. Leaders often rely on assumptions rather than data, resulting in initiatives that feel disconnected from what employees actually need. The result is wasted effort, missed opportunities and workplaces that lag behind the evolving HR landscape. HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia steps in precisely at this pain point. By providing a rigorous and transparent assessment of employee experience through the Total Engagement Assessment Model, the programme gives companies a granular view of their internal culture. Instead of guessing where morale is dropping or why teams are disengaging, organisations receive evidence-based insights that cut through internal blind spots. This clarity allows leaders to prioritise real issues, fix broken touchpoints and build practices that align with the expectations of today's workforce. The programme does more than validate what a company is doing right; it exposes what needs to change. In a market shaped by digital transformation and rising employee scepticism, this ability to understand and act ahead of emerging trends becomes a competitive edge. Companies recognised as HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia stand out not because they are perfect, but because they are proactive. They face their culture gaps early, respond with accuracy and evolve faster than their competitors. Datuk William Ng, Chairman of HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia, said: "Malaysia's workforce is evolving quickly. Organisations that treat culture-building as a one-off campaign are the ones falling behind. The winners in this programme are the companies that listen, adapt and lead with evidence rather than assumption." As the 2025 cycle begins, the programme continues to equip organisations with the insight and credibility they need to navigate the market's shifting HR landscape, strengthen their talent foundations and stay ahead of what is coming next. The award covers fifteen markets across the region including mainland China, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam, making this the largest recognition program and survey in the region for employee engagement. SINGAPORE, Jan. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Organized by Business Media International, the HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia recognised outstanding companies that have demonstrated resilience, adaptability and commitment to people-first leadership amidst some of the toughest HR conditions in recent years. Congratulations to the winners of the 2025 Singapore HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Across Asia, companies continued to battle a volatile talent landscape marked by rapid digital disruption, talent shortages, rising employee expectations and an intensified competition for skilled workers. These challenges were amplified by shifting workforce values across generations and increased pressure for meaningful employee engagement, sustainable work cultures and clear growth pathways. Through its proprietary Total Engagement Assessment Model (TEAM), the programme enabled companies to identify behavioural gaps, measure culture alignment, and benchmark themselves against high-performing peers across Asia. The results helped employers build targeted strategies to strengthen retention, improve manager effectiveness, accelerate digital adoption, and reshape workplace policies for greater flexibility and inclusivity. The 2025 winners demonstrated clear progress in translating these insights into action. Companies leaned heavily into hybrid work optimisation and leadership upskilling, accelerated digital capability building and strengthened mental wellbeing frameworks and focused on foundational talent development, culture-building and formalising employee engagement systems. "This award is not only a recognition of excellence, but also a validation that data-driven, people-first strategies work." The programme elevates HR leaders and industry decision-makers driving workplace excellence across Asia. Explore the Forgotten Role of Oyster Reefs in Protecting Our Shores and Supporting Biodiversity HONG KONG, Jan. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- As the city prepares to welcome the Year of the Horse, a traditional Lunar New Year symbol takes on new significance, the golden oyster – long associated with prosperity, abundance, and good fortune — now carries a deeper message “Reviving Hong Kong’s Ocean Heritage: Our Forgotten Oyster Reefs” Exhibition — January 12 to 23, 2026 (weekdays only), at the Lincoln House linkbridge, Taikoo Place. Beyond its festive glow, the oyster tells a story of ecological power and quiet loss. Once thriving along Hong Kong's coastlines, oyster reefs played a vital role as natural water filters, wave buffers, and biodiversity hotspots. Today, they have all but vanished — and with them, a crucial part of the city's marine heritage. This January, The Nature Conservancy (TNC) ) invites the public to reconnect with this forgotten ecosystem through the finale edition of its interactive exhibition series: Reviving Hong Kong's Ocean Heritage: Our Forgotten Oyster Reefs. The exhibition will take place at the linkbridge at Lincoln House, Taikoo Place, from January 12 to 23, 2026 (weekdays only). Located in one of the Hong Kong's most vibrant business districts, the exhibition offers professionals and the public alike a rare opportunity to pause, reflect, and discover how they can make a tangible impact on ocean conservation. From Festive Symbol to Ecological Reality In Chinese tradition, oysters have long symbolized wealth and longevity — their golden form representing luck and blessings for the year ahead. But the oyster's real-world role is just as powerful. Beneath the surface, oyster reefs anchor entire marine ecosystems: filtering water, stabilizing shorelines, and supporting biodiversity. Globally, over 85% of oyster reefs have been lost, making them one of the most endangered marine habitats. In Hong Kong, they once supported local livelihoods and coastal resilience — yet their disappearance has gone largely unnoticed. This exhibition brings their story back into focus, showing how restoring oyster reefs is a nature-based solution that supports climate adaptation, biodiversity recovery, and sustainable economic development. "Biodiversity loss is no longer an abstract concept — it's a material risk for business, communities, and long-term economic stability," said Anthony Gao, Executive Director for Hong Kong and Regional Partnerships. "Restoring oyster reefs is more than conservation. It's a practical, nature-based solution that strengthens coastal resilience, supports ESG goals, and helps build a blue economy that benefits both people and the planet. Through this exhibition, we hope to inspire Hong Kong's business community to take the lead — by integrating nature into strategy, and turning sustainability commitments into tangible action." Immersive Learning Experience and Highlights The exhibition offers a multisensory journey designed to educate and inspire: A Virtual Reality Journey to restoration sites in Deep Bay and Pak Nai. A full-scale Traditional Oyster Farming Model, featuring authentic poles from Deep Bay. A Water Filtration Video Demonstration, showcasing the oysters natural ability to clean water. A Coastal Resilience Simulation showing how oyster reefs reduce wave impact and protect shorelines from storm surges. Marine Specimens & AR Games inviting participants to rebuild digital reefs. Screening of City of Shells: Our Forgotten Oyster Reefs, a documentary tracing 1,000-year oyster heritage. Special Lunar New Year Surprises To celebrate the new year with hope and prosperity, visitors will have the chance to receive a limited-edition Oyster BB's Lucky Scroll — a creative Lunar New Year fai chun that blends festive charm with a call to protect nature. A special red pouch will also be available to selected visitors through on-site engagement, while supplies last. These efforts would not be possible without the invaluable support and collaboration of our partners. TNC extends its sincere gratitude to the Swire Group Charitable Trust for its generous support, to Swire Institute of Marine Science (SWIMS) and the Explorer Club Hong Kong (ECHK) for their continue expertise and collaboration; and to our venue sponsor, Taikoo Place, for providing a vibrant and accessible platform for public engagement in the heart of one of Hong Kong's most dynamic business communities. HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam, Jan. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital travel platform Agoda reveals that Vietnam is becoming an increasingly popular year-end travel choice for families in the region and beyond. Based on searches made between September and November 2025 for stays during December 2025 and January 2026, Agoda recorded a 30% increase in family travel interest to Vietnam compared with the same period the previous year. Agoda data shows that Vietnam is attracting more international families than ever this winter holiday season. South Koreans take the lead as the top market interested in traveling to Vietnam in December and January, with families from India, Singapore, Australia, and Malaysia rounding out the top five. Notably, Agoda reported that Indian families showcased the highest growth in travel interest to Vietnam during this period, with a 186% increase in searches. Malaysians also, are expressing strong growth in interest, with a 74% increase in searches, highlighting Vietnam's appeal as a family destination in Southeast Asia and beyond. Families are choosing Vietnam for its storied culture and cuisine, diverse landscapes, and abundance of family-friendly resorts and attractions. Phu Quoc Island leads as the most sought-after destination among international family travelers with a 47% increase in searches, popular for its sandy beaches, calm waters, and nature parks ideal for multi-generation vacations. Da Nang follows with 42% growth in travel interest, noted for its beaches, soft adventure activities, and access to Ba Na Hills theme park. Nha Trang comes in third place, remaining a favorite for its long coastline, family-oriented resorts, and island experiences. In fourth place, Ho Chi Minh City appeals with its vibrant food scene, entertainment complexes, and day trips to the Mekong Delta. In the north, Hanoi continues to draw families with its cultural landmarks, museums, and festive atmosphere, rounding out the top five most family-friendly year-end destinations in Vietnam. Meanwhile, although Vietnamese families traditionally travel less internationally at the end of the year – typically preferring to wait for the Lunar New Year - China is becoming a noticeable exception. Among the top 20 outbound destinations preferred by Vietnamese families during the December-January period, searches for Shanghai increased 58%, while Beijing increased 59%. This shift is supported by the launch of new direct routes between Hanoi and selected Chinese cities earlier this year, making end-of-year overseas trips more accessible than ever. Vu Ngoc Lam, Country Director at Agoda, said: "It is wonderful to see Vietnam increasingly chosen as an end-of-year holiday destination for families from across Asia and beyond. Agoda's data shows that travelers are recognizing Vietnam's family-friendly appeal, which further strengthen its position on the global travel map. As more families plan their festive-season or year-end getaways, we are delighted to support them through Agoda's simple, intuitive platform and our wide range of stays, flights, and activities." With over 6 million properties, 130,000 flight routes, and 300,000 activities, all bookable in one seamless itinerary, Agoda helps families plan memorable year-end holidays, whether they choose a peaceful beach break, a cultural city escape, or an international exploration to mark the close of the year.
