【專題演講】Lessons from clinical trial of contact lens sensor
The first MEMS-based contact lens sensor, Triggerfish, was developed by Sensimed, a start-up company in Lausanne, Switzerland. The sensor is intended to monitor intraocular pressure, the only treatable risk factor, in patients with glaucoma. The device is commercially available for clinical use in many countries, but not in the United States. A single-center, FDA-regulated clinical trial was taken place in University California, San Diego. The trial is completed and a few related reports published. Many lessons have been learn, which is invaluable for future developments of contact lens biosensors.
